I’m about to start my third year teaching and, as the title has doubtless told you, I finally have a classroom! My students are probably savoring their last days of summer, as I am, but I’m getting excited to go back school.
I recently got to know a photojournalist whose pictures of Middle East conflict and life have appeared in major world publications. I asked him how to take a good picture and he told me, “Look for the light.” Tonight, I looked and took a couple shots of what I saw.
As far as I’m concerned, Saturday is market day. I’ve chronicled my market excursions a few times in the past, which you can see here. The public market is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; more vendors come on Saturdays and, consequently, so do more people. I went to the market alone this morning and was greeted with the following:
